Show - hide geographic points data (locations, sights, hiking routes)

If you want to display all the available geographic point data on the map, select the desired location type group from the left-panel list. Each time you select or deselect an item of the list the corresponding location-type icons are shown or hidden from the map (e.g. If you select the "Church" type from the left-panel list, you will see all the church-related points appear as icons on the map's corresponding geographic positions). The icons of each location-type group are displayed on the map within a shord distance above the exact geographic spot, and connects to the actual point with a thin line.

Hiking routes

Especially for the hiking routes type, each route icon is presented on the mid-point of the line that connects the route's distant points (top-left and bottom-right). If you want to see each route's exact trail points you have to click on the route's icon. Doing so will redirect you to the route's details page, were you will be presented with the route's detailed description. The map contained in that page displays all the exact path's trail points.

Point overlaping

Each time that you select to present a location-type group on the map, the points displayed are part of a data layer (e.g. churches, squares). Each newly-presented data layer overlaps the previously displayed ones and is being overlaped by the ones to come. This sometimes results to point overlapping due to the point's close geographic positioning and as a result some points may be hidden. To reveal all the hidden points of a data layer, hide and show the hidden points layer once more to bring the layer points to the foreground. In case the overlapped points belong to the same data layer it would be wise to recenter the map to the desired point and select a higher zoom level to view the points.

Displaying the point names

When a certain data layer's icons are dispayed on the map (e.g. churches), you may see each point's name description by simply placing your mouse over the desired point icon. Once you've done this the point name description will be revealed. Espacially when the data layer is the Hiking Routes layer, you will also be presented with the route's basic data such as distance, walking time, difficulty level, user rating etc.
